Useful information
Passport - Your passport must be valid for at least three months after the end of your proposed visit. Visas are not required from most countries ( check when you book)
Language – English speaking.
Electricity - 110 volts and 220 volts. The electrical fixtures are US standard. For other visitors an international adaptor is needed.
Money - The local currency is the TT $ dollar (very approximately £1 sterling = TT$10, US$1 = TT$6, €1 = TT$6.5).
US dollars and travelers cheques are accepted everywhere.
Use ATM, ABM machines, you do not need to carry lots of cash with you.
Republic Bank “Blue Machines” allow cash withdrawals ( in local currency ) from any cards carrying the LINX, VISA, and/or Master Card logos

Health – Guide books advise that immunizations are not necessary.
Do bring good quality/ high factor sun cream, antiseptic spray and plasters (as cuts heal more slowly in the heat) as well as insect repellent and treatment cream.
Food – There are several good supermarkets offering a wide selection.
Scarborough has a bustling market where you can buy fresh fruit and vegetables
(best days are Friday and Saturday.)
Fresh fish can be bought daily from 4pm - from the local fishermen at Mt Irvine beach.
Eating Out – Tobago’s cuisine is a blend of African, Indian, and Creole with a mixture of many other influences. Be adventurous. There are many restaurants to choose from - for details see my Tobago listings. Many kitchens close at 9pm, so book and plan to eat early evening.
Nightlife - is limited. Most hotels offer nightly entertainment ( open to all ) and there are small local bars. Some have large screen cable/satellite sporting channels, and pool tables.
